MARE LINES

Willowcroft mares are an absolutely exceptional bunch bred specifically to mesh superbly with the temperament, type, movement and presence of the Willowcroft stallions. We have been expanding out the Stud with a new run of superb and carefully chosen Willowcroft fillies, and through the infusion of selected huge moving and stunningly beautiful thoroughbred stock. The mare herd now includes a core program within a restricted and specific breeding line of some 15 top quality show mares. It has taken many generations to fulfill the optimal mare type required to produce consistently high end winning performance progeny.

Eton requires little introduction as he possesses the truly outstanding bloodlines of exceptionally successful ridden open show ponies both in Australia, and of course in the UK. Eton’s dam line is arguably one of the best open saddle ponies the country has seen with high calibre wins ranging from Champion Young-stock at the UK’s Royal International Horse Show, and then in Australia taking Champion Large Pony at Grand Nationals, Champions at Canberra Royal, Melbourne Royal, and completing her show career being shown as a broodmare to win Supreme Exhibit at Adelaide Royal.

Lords is a truely world-class stallion, with outstanding high order wins including the prestigious 2010 National Riding Pony Stallion of the Year. He is true to type and possesses a magnificent turn of front with beautiful correct movement.
